As Pikachu used Quick Attack, Golisopod attempted to stop him with Poison Jab. Despite this, he went to attack with Iron Tail, but Golisopod countered the move with Pin Missile. In an attempt to attack Golisopod with Quick Attack, Pikachu became poisoned by Poison Jab. Ash attempted to end the match by using his Z-Ring, having Pikachu use Corkscrew Crash Z-Move. Pikachu retaliated with Thunderbolt, which Golisopod managed to resist. The latter fired Pin Missile, which was stopped by Pikachu's Electroweb. Pikachu counterattacked with Iron Tail, but Golisopod received no damage. Golisopod immediately started off with First Impression, which flinged Pikachu in mid-air. Guzma sent Golisopod to fight Ash's Pikachu on the Pokémon School's grounds. Elsewhere, Golisopod watched as Guzma was slamming his fist in fury, for not being able to defeat Professor Kukui. Braviary used Brave Bird to defeat Golisopod, to which Kukui commented that Guzma needed to befriend his Pokémon. Regieleki may be a combination of regis (Latin for royal) and エレキ ereki (Japanese for electric).When Professor Kukui and Guzma were Hala's apprentices, they used to have battles with one another. The Legendary titans may be collectively themed after historical epochs, with Regieleki representing the Modern Age. As an electric generator found in ancient ruins, its inspiration may also be drawn from an out-of-place artifact (OOPART), such as the Baghdad Battery. Its overall shape resembles a light bulb wrapped in Tesla coils, its arms resemble electric arcs, and its legs resemble a power plug. Regieleki also seems to be based off the concept of an electric charge being restrained by electrical insulation. When the writing is removed, the creature would be weakened, or even killed in some legends. The legends cast them as servants of higher powers and are said to have writing on their heads. Regieleki seems to be based on the golems of Hebrew legend.
